Within just a few minutes of starting the session, Joel had us girls laughing. His sense of humor is infectious, keeping his lovely bride-to-be giggling, while she provides him some calm and harbor from the world.

Their March wedding will be here before you know it, and I can’t wait to spend their day with them… mostly laughing.

Senior Portraits | Lincoln Nebraska

School (and football!) is right around the corner. Have you found the perfect photographer to suit your senior style?

Take advantage of this Back to School sale and book before August 20th to receive 25% off your senior session (reg. price $200). Print packages start at $210. Ditch the cheesy poses and awful locations. Have senior photos you’ll be proud to show off!

They say rain on your wedding day is good luck. What about rain on the day of your engagement photo shoot?

I’d like to think it’s good luck. I had a great time out in the rain, especially with Kim and Tanner’s go-with-the-flow attitude. It’s safe to say I’m excited for a fun wedding day with them.

If it rains again, we’ll know how to handle it.

I started keeping a journal when I was 12. I read an article that made me realize “journaling” — which was way more grown-up than keeping a DIARY — didn’t have to happen every day and there didn’t have to be some grand plot or over-arching message. It could just be a way for me to pin down thoughts that were constantly flying around in my head.

Journaling and High School
Last night I realized I’ve had my journal app for 4 years. Funny thing about digital journals–they never fill up! I stayed awake past my normal 2 a.m. bedtime last night, unable to put it down. I had been transported back, completely forgetting the world like only a great book can make you do.

Journaling & High School Graduation
Because I am and always will be recklessly optimistic, I had been writing about a guy who I just KNEW was The One. Today I have no idea who that guy was. That’s what I love about having this personal record of my life. There were new boys, old friends, new friends, pain, depression, joy, anger.. everything. It is all in there. I can see exactly where I’ve been and remember all of the little moments that made me the person I’ve become. Because 12 year old me thought that there wasn’t some grand plot, but there was.

I was writing the story of me and I still am. I’m so glad I picked up the pen.

High School & Journaling
To J, C, D and all of the random people that helped me write it — this one’s for you.

During the day I work for some sort of adult Disney World called Firespring. They caught on to the new website trend and have one too! My favorite part has to be this page that shows off all of these crazy people I work with… and it just might be my favorite page because it features some of my photos. While everybody’s pictures are awesome, I like Courtney, Mark, and Shannon‘s best of the ones I took. Shannon and Mark weren’t afraid to have fun, which really makes their pictures unique and their personality shine through, which adds that WOW to a picture. So that’s my day job.

Then after work and CrossFit, I come home and work (if you can call your dream job “work”) on this little photography dream. Yeah, I just used the word DREAM twice in one sentence, because I seriously love everything about photography so much. Meeting new people, making them feel beautiful, having a wonderful afternoon with them, then seeing how much they enjoy their pictures? Holy cow. I LOVE IT. If some snot-nosed grade school kid said “So why don’t you marry it?” I’d be all “Yeah, you know what? I should.” because photography is my non-human soul mate.

Ahem. Anyway.

Lincoln Senior Picture Rep Program

Keeping on the subject of DREAMS.. I am looking to make a dream come true for two Class of 2015 seniors in Lincoln and the surrounding areas (and their parents, who probably like the idea of spending less money on senior pictures). I’m taking applications for my senior rep program. The selected seniors will receive all this good stuff:

  • Free hair and makeup for the photo shoot
  • A free photo session
  • Digital pictures to share on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
  • Discounts on prints
  • MORE.

Senior Reps need to be active in school and community groups, with some volunteer experience and an outgoing personality. Oh yeah, and you’ve gotta be ready to have some fun. Think that sounds like you? Call me at 402.266.1045 or use that handy-dandy “Ready to Say Cheese?” form up at the top of the page.

Like I said, I’m only taking 2 senior reps this year and competition is fierce, so get your applications in!!

PS:: thinking you’re not a model? Tyra Banks thought that too. But like Tyra in ANTM, I’ll be your spirit guide.
